Why Simple Gurbani?

No doubt so many Punjabi and English translations of Guru Granth Sahib are available, but since this holy scripture was written more than 500 years ago in a old variation of Punjabi, even those who know modern Punjabi find it difficult to fully appreciate the divine message of this treasure.

The specific purpose of Simple Gurbani is to serve as a guide and to heighten appreciation of the message of each Shabad of SGGS, for those:

who don’t know Punjabi,
who may never have been to Punjab,
who are unfamiliar with the language, customs, culture, and history.

Using simple language, for each Shabad in the 1430 pages of the scripture, I have given the context in which it might have been composed and my understanding of the message it conveys, along with it's para-wise translation.

I hope the reader obtains some benefit from this fifteen-year effort by a person who only did it for the love of his Guru -- and nothing else.
